Zamek Królewski [Royal Castle]

Zamek Królewski [Royal Castle] was probably erected in the 12th century by Przemysł II. The structure over the centuries has been several times destroyed and rebuilt which changed it original appearance. The last reconstruction, performed in 2010-2013, according to the design by Witold Milewski, is not an exact copy of original architecture but rather a variation on its theme. The greater tourist attraction includes a 43-metre castle tower from which you can admire the panoramic view of Poznań.
The interiors of the Castle hold also the Museum of Applied Arts. Within the area of almost 1500 m2 you can admire furniture, ceramics, glassware and metal products as well as jewellery, fabrics, dresses and additions to them.
It only takes a 5-minute walk from the underground car park under Wolności Square to get there.
